A Birthday Bash for Him

by on Jan.30, 2012, under Parties & Gatherings

To celebrate my honey’s 30th year of living, I threw him a soirĂ©e jam-packed with all of his favorite things.

Golf, beer, pigs-in-a-blanket, Indian food, carrot cake – even his favorite nuts! This is what heaven tastes like to Sammy.

I had a crazy amount of fun (and a hundred moments of exhaustion!) decorating and prepping for this bash. It was so special to do this for my longtime love, who is very low-key and would never, EVER go to any length to celebrate himself. I secretly think he dug all the attention for the night, though he’ll never admit it…

I think we had about 25 guests. Our much-adored Texan family and friends were on hand to celebrate, and then, suddenly, new friends who we had met just a few weeks earlier poured in! Austinites are amazing; they love to party and are eager to start friendships.

This bash was too much fun!

Wish I could have been there to celebrate with you guys for his birthday. I am glad you guys had a blast. Miss you and see you soon.

Nicole! I adore your decor, the golf ball arrangements are so clever! I might have to flatter you with copying this for my guy on day. Too cute! From the looks of it, your sweet guy loved the attention. Wish we could have been there!

Wish you could’ve come, Len and Team Locklin! Lisa, the hardest part about the golf decor was fighting Sammy for the golf balls! He kept poking through the ball arrangements to check for his Noodles, his fave balls that are off-limits to me.

I love the vases with golf balls! Wherever did you find the grass balls on stems? Kristine
